I’m Ian, a Director of Photography and camera operator based in Birmingham, working across the UK.

My work spans documentary, commercial and narrative filmmaking, with a particular love for natural, cinematic imagery and stories built around real people.

I enjoy working collaboratively with directors, producers and agencies, whether that means building a carefully controlled visual approach or working quickly and instinctively as a story unfolds.

Over the years I’ve worked across everything from intimate documentary interviews to sports, branded films and narrative projects for clients including Team GB, Nike, NHS, ITV, Liverpool FC and The Wall Street Journal.

Ultimately, I’m interested in the same thing whatever the project: great images that serve the story.
